ALERT: Important information for Convention Hotel.
New Booking Deadline is May 1, 2024 The Florida Hotel posted erroneous information on their Booking website page for our event, stating that special rates applied for reservations made up to May 13. They have since acknowledged their error and updated their webpage for our event. Because of this error, we may not be able to guarantee the negotiated rate if you book after May 1. If there is any possibility that you will attend convention and require a hotel room, we recommend that you book BEFORE May 1 in order to get the reduced rate. You can always cancel in the days closer to the convention date if you subsequently choose not to attend.
ABORTION IS ON THE BALLOT!
TALLAHASSEE — Florida voters will get the chance to vote on protecting abortion access after the Florida Supreme Court on Monday allowed the amendment onto 2024 ballots. But the court on Monday also released an opinion upholding the state’s current 15-week abortion ban. Upholding the current law triggers a six-week abortion ban that lawmakers approved last year to go into effect. That law offers limited exceptions for rape and incest, and will go into effect 30 days after Monday’s ruling. The change will disrupt abortion access not only in Florida, but for women across the southeastern U.S., giving them fewer places to turn to for legal abortions in a part of the country where many states ban abortion almost entirely.
